| Storyline | Port Hope is a one-hour family drama series about the Gilberts, a family that lives on a large, century-old farm on the outskirts of Port Hope. These are not your typical small-town folk. Not at all. Ed Gilbert is a well-respected veterinarian but he also runs the widely known and often controversial Mud Lake Wildlife Sanctuary, taking in injured or abandoned wild animals and birds, both exotic and indigenous. His wife Amanda is a social worker who takes in strays of a different kind – kids at risk. She and Ed have their hands full raising their own three children helping the strays.. both the four-legged and two-legged variety. |

| Character Description | OPTION REQUIRED. Gunny is Ed’s right-hand man and manager of the Mud Lake Sanctuary. He knows everything about animals, reptiles and birds. But with no family of his own, these kids and Ed and Amanda’s kids become his own and in spite of his GRUFF and ORNERY manner, they all come to love him. Underneath the crankiness is a humourous man. He sometimes totally disagrees with Ed’s “extravagances” and has his eye on the bottom line almost as much as Amanda. OPEN TO ALL ETHNICITIES. |
